West Midlands Hedgehog Rescue

Joan Lockley, assisted by husband Steve, runs West Midlands Hedgehog Rescue. It is a self-funded centre. Joan is a registered carer and we are linked to the British Hegdehog Preservation Society .

We rescue sick, injured, orphaned and abandoned hedgehogs We cover the northern half of the West Midlands and the south of Staffordshire.

Our aim is to act in the best interest of the individual animal at all times.
We never refuse a call for help.
We will either look after the hedgehog ourselves or find another carer who can assist more easily.

The advice given on this site is intended for wild European Hedgehogs (Erinaceus Europaeus) only.

If in doubt, always consult a vet about sick or injured hedgehogs.
