West Midlands Hedgehog Rescue

Joan Lockley, assisted by a small fundraising team, runs West Midlands Hedgehog Rescue. It used to be entirely self-funded but now we hold small fundraising events. The costs are increasing yearly due to the ever increasing number of hedgehogs needing Joan's help. Joan is a registered carer and is linked to the British Hegdehog Preservation Society .

We rescue sick, injured, orphaned and abandoned hedgehogs We cover the northern half of the West Midlands and the south of Staffordshire.

Our aim is to act in the best interest of the individual animal at all times.
We never refuse a call for help.
We will either look after the hedgehog ourselves or find another carer who can assist more easily.

The advice given on this site is intended for wild European Hedgehogs (Erinaceus Europaeus) only.

If in doubt, always consult a vet about sick or injured hedgehogs.
